Our Mission
Louisiana Barber Academy (LBA) is committed to raising the standard of education and professionalism within the barbering industry. Students at LBA will learn technical barbering skills that will prepare them to pass the state licensing exam and to gain employment in the hair care industry. LBA will engage students in fundamental business concepts and practices relevant to the beauty industry, including business building, financial education, management skills and social skills.
What We Offer
LOUISIANA BARBER/STYLIST COURSE
The Louisiana Barber/Stylist Course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professional development needed for a successful career in barbering. Students will receive training in haircutting, shaving, styling, chemical services, sanitation, and safety, along with state laws and business practices. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience to prepare students for the Louisiana State Board of Barber Examiners licensing exam and for real-world success in the barbering industry.
LOUISIANA BARBER INSTRUCTOR COURSE
The Louisiana Barber Instructor Course is designed to prepare licensed barbers to become skilled educators and mentors in the field of barbering. The program focuses on teaching methods, classroom management, lesson planning, student evaluation, and leadership skills. Participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, learning how to effectively communicate techniques, demonstrate services, and guide students toward state licensure.
The Owner & Instructor
Jason Walker brings over 30 years of professional experience and passion for the art of barbering to the classroom. With a strong background in cutting, styling, grooming, & entrepreneurship, he is dedicated to teaching students the skills and confidence needed to succeed and grow in the barbering industry. Known for his professionalism, expertise and commitment to excellence, Jason ensures every student will receive hands-on training and real-world knowledge to prepare for a successful career.
