The first 10 students for the the Barber/Stylist Program will get an opportunity to enroll for a reduced tuition cost that will require a down payment along with interest free monthly payments to pay the balance.   Go to the home page and click the "GRAND OPENING SPECIALS" tab at the top of the page  or scroll down in this FAQ section to see to see the details for each program.

Louisiana Barber Academy offers 3 programs: Barber/Stylist, Cosmetology Crossover & Barber Instructor. 

 Program Cost

$15,000  Original Cost

-$4,000  Grand Opening Discount along with a FREE Barber Kit

=$11,000 Total Tuition Cost

Full Time Payment Plan—Interest Free

• $3,000 Down Payment - non refundable after the first day of attendance
• $8,000 Remaining Balance will be paid as follows:

                   *11 monthly payments of $728 due on the 1st or 15th each month

Part Time Payment Plan—Interest Free

• $2,500 Down Payment - non refundable after the first day of attendance
• $8,500 Remaining Balance will be paid as follows:

                  *17 monthly payments of $500 due on the 1st or 15th each month

**Additional Fees Required→  $90 money order for State Board Registration & a $50 Money Order upon completion of the program. These fees are paid directly to the LA State Board of Barber Examiners, or you can pay the fees directly to Louisiana Barber Academy (LBA), and we will send the fee for you.

NOTE-For both the full time and part time payment plan, the down payment is non refundable after the student has attended the first day of class.  If the student decides to cancel his/her agreement before or on the first day of attendance, the student will be refunded the total down payment received, less a $150 cancellation and the initial $25 pre-enrollment application fee.

Louisiana Barber Academy currently cannot  accept federal or state financial aid.  We will be working toward accreditation. Schools must be in operation for several years and complete the accreditation process before becoming eligible to offer federal financial aid programs. Once accreditation is achieved,  the school will pursue approval to participate in federal student aid programs. However, we do have an INTEREST FREE monthly payment plan along with a down payment.  

Barber/Stylist Program=1500 Clock Hours

--Full-time- 32.5 hours per week  →   Monday to Friday–8:30 am to 4:00 pm (lunch 12:30 to 1:30)  

*approximately 12 months to complete the program 

--Part-time- 20 hours per week →   Monday to Friday-2 pm to 6 pm  OR 5pm to 9pm

*approximately 18.5 months to complete the program

Cosmetology Crossover Program=600 Clock Hours

20 Hours per week    →8:30 am to 12:30 pm  OR  2 pm to 6 pm OR 5pm to 9pm

*approximately 8 months to complete the program 

Barber Instructor Program=500 Clock Hours

20 Hours per week    →    8:30 am to 12:30 pm  OR  2 pm to 6 pm OR 5pm to 9pm

*approximately 6 months to complete the program

No, Louisiana Barber Academy does not offer online courses as we believe in providing hands-on training and in-person learning experiences to our students.

• Applicants must be at least 17 years of age
• Applicant must have a high school diploma AND transcript or a passing grade on GED/HISET  

Step #1—-- Pre-Enrollment Application 

Submit your Pre-Enrollment Application Form .  This form can be obtained by clicking the download below or by clicking the APPLY NOW button on the Home Page or by visiting the academy.   Return this form along with the documents listed below and a $25 application fee (non refundable) to the Owner/Instructor: Jason Walker.  You can pay this fee online by clicking the apply now button.  Payment methods accepted: cash credit or debit card(4% processing fee), money order, cashier’s check made payable to Louisiana Barber Academy.

The following documents need to be turned in with your completed Pre-Enrollment Application:

• Copy of Birth Certificate 
• Copy of Social Security Card 
• Two passport photos of student-Can be printed at Walgreens
• High school diploma AND transcript or a passing grade on equivalence test (GED/HISET)  

*****In the event of a foreign high-school diploma, the prospective student must provide an equivalency evaluation performed by an outside agency that is qualified to translate documents into English and confirm the academic equivalence to a U.S. high school diploma prior to enrollment.

Step #2—- Pre Enrollment Interview/Inquiry/Information Session

Once your Pre-Enrollment Application Form & other required documents are  turned in, you will be contacted within 1 to 3 business days for a pre-enrollment interview and information session with the owner, Jason Walker. At this session, you will be able to ask questions, and Mr. Jason will share with you information about the program, expectations, the cost of the program, and payment options.  

Step #3— Enrollment Finalization Session

Upon acceptance, you will be notified by email, text, phone call or in person, of your Enrollment Finalization Session date/time.  On this day, you will finalize your enrollment and take care of the payment due.

• Applicant must have a valid  Louisiana Cosmetology License

•  Applicant must have a current Louisiana State Barber’s License
• Once the course is completed, the applicant can’t apply for the Instructor License until he/she has one year of barbering experience.
